This was a hunting trip just north of the Olallie area that these two will never forget!

Public game hunting is allowed (with Oregon tags, of course!) starting just north of the Olallie Lake Scenic Area and extending to the Timothy Lake area some 20 miles to the north. This area comprises approximately 400 square miles of Mt. Hood National Forest wildlife lands without campgrounds or other developed recreation areas. This minimizes user conflict and gives the hunter a large area where you can enjoy the solitude and challenge of the ever-elusive mule and black-tail deer, elk and black bear. Just stay north of the powerlines and the 'green gate' that marks the entrance to the Olallie Lake Scenic Area.

After your day out in the woods, we invite you to take a short 5 mile drive back to Olallie Lake Resort, where you can enjoy our friendly hospitality, cozy lakeside cabins, and the convenience of picking up a few needed items at our store. Warm your feet by a wood fire while you relax with friends, socialize in the cabin as you enjoy a beautiful sunset across the lake, listen to the night sounds, gaze at the stars, and get a good night's rest on a comfortable bed after an adventurous day of hunting.

Or park your RV in one of our campgrounds where water and store conveniences are close.
