August - September

Everybody bring your buckets! Olallie means Huckleberry. Olallie Lake got its name for obvious reasons.....during these months the Huckleberries are out. Take advantage of the abundance of deliciously sweet and juicy ripe Huckleberries that grow wild in this area. Collect your share of huckleberries for your morning pancakes or afternoon snack. Just pick a trail and go for it!

Swimming
There is no swimming in Olallie Lake, since it is the drinking water source for the Olallie Lake Scenic Area. However, there are over 60 other lakes in the area that are open for swimming. The most popular lakes for swimming are "Head Lake and First Lake".

Head Lake has a swim float attached to the shoreline, which is fun for sunbathing and jumping off. Head Lake is located approximately 100 yards west of the resort store.

Beautiful First Lake is located about 1/4 mi. north of Head Lake for your swimming pleasure.
