The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) runs from Mexico to Canada passing through some of the most pristine country in the west. Olallie is right on the path (only a few hundred yards between the store and the PCT). This makes it a great jump off point for those looking to explore the Olallie Lake Scenic Area or a pit stop for those hiking all or part of the PCT. And yes there are many who decide to test their strength and endurance hiking the entire trail before snow blocks the path.
Here are some of the services we offer for those hiking the PCT.
- New “Hiker” section in our store featuring items which are easier or more specialized for hikers. Ex: pasta, dried fruits, pop top cans, just add hot water items, nuts, tuna in resealable container, other non refrigerated packaged meats and meals, pastas, easy-Mac, and etc.
- Great ‘break’ foods, such as: candy, muffins, jerky, chips, soda pop, Gatorade, juices, crackers.
- Have a meal that you wouldn’t on the trail with perishables such as: eggs, bacon, milk, orange juice, and bread.
- Frozen microwavable meals such as; Burritos, chimichangas, hamburgers, egg rolls, mini-pizzas, and steak sub sandwiches.
- Cell phone for telephone calls ($5 per call for up to 5 mins. (cell tower is sometimes inoperable)
- “Thru-hikers”, or those that are hiking all from Mexico to Canada, can’t carry all of their supplies. Therefore they or a friend will send packages to certain points along the trail for pick up. For many years Olallie has been one of those points. Please see below for current details on how to have PCT packages sent to Olallie Lake Resort.
- PCT trail log and exchange box.
- A break from the trail, relaxation around the store and picnic area, and the friendly atmosphere are just a few examples of our other accommodations, products or services that help make Olallie Lake a helpful, enjoyable and memorable stop along one of North America’s greatest trails.

These hikers took a break from the trail to take part in our annual paddle boat races.
