Know About Metal Fabricating Process

Metal fabrication is the process of producing artifacts or structures by designing, cutting, joining and assembly of raw metal materials. This process aims to add value so that accurate engineering drawings should adhere to the required standards. You can get detailed knowledge about the same via

Metal Fabrication Process

Step 1: Design

There is a clear standard (British Standards, Euro-codes, etc.) and there are laws that govern the design of all the engineering equipment and structures. These standards are based on the use of raw materials available in certain areas, and environmental conditions. The factory shall clearly define the standards and requirements of the client before the design and fabrication process begins.

Step 2: Marking Out

In small-scale metal fabrication marks made directly from a technical drawing with square edges or straight lines in the sheet metal that is used as a reference point.

But in large-scale production of a template made of wood, metal or special paper that is used depends on the number and types of products. Template costs must be justified. Care must be taken when using the formwork to ensure the accuracy of their dimensions since the damaged template can result in large losses.

Step 3: Cutting

Cutting is done by the use of either oxy-acetylene or oxy-propane gas. Propane is cheaper but requires a special cutting nozzle. The process begins by heating the carbon steel to 850 ° C resulted in an exothermic reaction temperature rises further. Thermal cutting applies the principle of rapid oxidation.
