Selecting a certified public accountant or CPA for your business can be a very tough task. There are numerous CPAs out there, but how do you know which one is reliable?
After all, this company will be managing your financial matters, so it is one of the most important components. You can also hire a full service accounting and tax firm for your business.

Here are a few steps to help you choose a reliable CPA for your business:
1) Collect referrals, if possible from others in your industry. If you do not have other people in your industry that you can ask for recommendations, check with your local Chamber of Commerce as a starting point.
2) Narrow your list.
3) Meet at least 3 CPAs to find with whom you can work well with. Remember to see their license and ask them why you should choose them over others.
4) Be sure to verify the details of working with each accountant. Enquire about their charges and bring a copy of your tax return the previous year to the interview.
5) Consider the suitability of each certified public accountant. Is their office hours make it easy for you to call them? Is their office located in a place that is easy and convenient for you if you need to drop some papers off?
If you make your choice based on these points, you will be very pleased with the accountant you select. Many business owners do not even think to ask some of these questions until late.
